The director, Justin Kurzel, brought in Chris to create a design for the idea of memory and past experiences. Chris drew on the double helix idea of DNA where, so the story goes, particularly violent memories are stored and from there passed down through the generations. Chris developed variations on this visual style which Justin then used in The Animus as a signature for time travel as well as a visual representation of memory itself.
