The Closing Fenestella series is born out of the idea that our chance to address climate change is rapidly closing and that the microscopic world, particularly the world of phytoplankton that produce over two thirds of the air that we breath, is the source both of many of the answers and potentially of the most existential fallout from rising ocean temperatures.

The interference patterns in soap bubbles have always captivated me and I have repeatedly returned to them, from my first attempt at the age of 12, to refine my approach and to capture more of the hypnotic but elusive appeal. I have always been interested in the power and infinite variability of fire and whenever the world seems at its most chaotic I find myself again exploring these themes.

Artwork created out of the pandemic, the masks that we all disappeared behind and the confusion that our governments wrought. The spike proteins coalesce to form an impenetrable veil.
